World Bank B‐READY 2025 ranking results: Georgia ranked 4th in the world in the new B‐READY 2025 ease of doing business ranking prepared by the World Bank. The study covered 101 countries, with Georgia sharing fourth place with jurisdictions such as Singapore, South Korea, and Estonia.
This result confirms Georgia’s solid reputation as one of the most comfortable countries in which to start and run a business.
Overtaking developed economies
In the B‐READY 2025 ranking, Georgia outperformed a number of countries with large and developed economies, including:
- the United Kingdom,
- Canada,
- the United States,
- Spain,
- the Czech Republic,
- Croatia,
- Latvia,
- and others.
For entrepreneurs and investors, this means that Georgia’s business environment is now objectively simpler and more efficient than in many traditionally “popular” jurisdictions.
What is the B‐READY rating and how does it differ?
The B‐READY rating has replaced the well‐known Doing Business index, in which Georgia previously ranked 7th.
It is important to note that in the updated methodology:
- Georgia has overtaken Hong Kong and New Zealand, which it previously lagged behind;
- the assessment has become more in‐depth and comprehensive, focusing on the actual functioning of business rather than just formal procedures.
How the business environment is assessed
The B‐READY methodology analyzes the entire life cycle of a company, including:
- business creation,
- operation and expansion,
- business closure.
Each indicator is assessed in three key areas:
- operational efficiency,
- regulatory framework,
- quality of public services.
This approach provides a practical rather than a formal overview of the business environment.
Georgia’s strength — operational efficiency
It is worth noting that Georgia ranked second in the world in terms of operational efficiency, second only to Singapore.
This means:
- minimal administrative barriers,
- fast interaction with government agencies,
- simple and understandable procedures for entrepreneurs,
- low transaction costs.
What this means for business
Georgia’s high position in the B‐READY 2025 ranking confirms that the country remains:
- one of the most convenient jurisdictions for registering a business;
- an attractive location for entrepreneurs to relocate to;
- a stable environment for scaling up and long‐term work.
That is why Georgia continues to be in high demand among IT companies, expats, investors, and international entrepreneurs.
